BIDEN SET TO MEET TINUBU AS US SCRAMBLES TO SALVAGE WANING INFLUENCE IN AFRICA The US has announced plans to hold talks with Nigeria's President, Bola Tinubu, in a closed-door meeting at the forthcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) scheduled between September 18 - 26. Tinubu reportedly became the only African leader selected for the all-crucial meeting, given the lack of options for Biden, as more African nations threw their support for the expulsion of French neo-colonialism in Niger while others joined the newly-formed BRICS. Both regional developments present serious threats to the US's waning global influence. The meeting has left the young and clueless Nigerian government fawning over its overnight importance to the US after being snubbed twice during regional visits by ex-President Barack Obama in 2015, and current VP Kamala Harris earlier this year.
